Barclays Plc has reportedly hired Jiongting Lim, an investment banker from Deutsche Bank AG, to lead its client coverage in Singapore. Lim, who had joined Deutsche Bank in 2020 as a director for mergers and acquisitions in Southeast Asia, has resigned from his position and is currently on leave. He is expected to start his role at Barclays in June. The sources providing this information requested to remain anonymous as the details are not public yet.

Jiongting Lim, a graduate of Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, had previously worked at advisory firm Evercore Inc. before joining Deutsche Bank. He also had over 10 years of experience at JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Singapore, initially as an analyst and later as a vice president.

Barclays had made earlier senior appointments in the Southeast Asia region, with Ee Ching Tay being named as the head of Southeast Asia banking in 2021. Tay had previously served as the head of Southeast Asia M&A at JPMorgan. Additionally, Kunal Ahuja joined Barclays from Standard Chartered Plc in late 2021 as the head of Southeast Asia M&A.
