IO Interactive Appoints Chief Technology Officer

IO Interactive, the renowned developer behind Hitman and Project 007, has welcomed Ulas Karademir back to the studio as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

Karademir returns to IO after a seven-year hiatus, during which he held prominent roles at Unity and RealityOS. His tenure at Unity saw him serve as Vice President for core engineering, graphics, operations, and productions, while at RealityOS, he held the positions of General Manager and Chief Product Officer.

In his new role at IO Interactive, Karademir will oversee the technical operations of the studio and lead the ongoing development of the company’s proprietary Glacier engine. Additionally, he will collaborate with production teams working on current titles such as Project 007 and Project Fantasy. Karademir will report directly to CEO Hakan Abrak.

Expressing his enthusiasm for returning to IO Interactive, Karademir stated, “IOI has always been known for innovation, great gameplay, and immersive worlds, and I am determined to elevate our standards even further.”

CEO Hakan Abrak emphasised Karademir’s valuable experience and leadership qualities, stating, “Ulas is a tremendous addition to our team… As IOI is growing and we are looking to bring amazing IPs to our players, Ulas will be at the forefront of our innovative endeavours.”
