Tapestry Inc. has appointed Eva Erdmann as CEO and brand president of Kate Spade, effective in October. Erdmann, a former executive at L’Oréal, will replace Liz Fraser, who departs in September after leading the brand since 2020. Erdmann will report to Tapestry CEO Joanne Crevoiserat and join the executive committee.

Erdmann’s appointment comes as Kate Spade aims to enhance innovation, consumer connections, and sustainable global growth. “I look forward to collaborating with the team to advance the mission of this powerful brand — bringing joy and self-expression to consumers around the world — and driving profitable growth for years to come,” Erdmann stated on LinkedIn.

Erdmann previously served as global president of Urban Decay Cosmetics at L’Oréal and held senior roles at Lancôme and Christian Dior Beauty. She brings extensive experience in driving international growth and brand strategy.

Kate Spade has faced revenue challenges recently, reporting a 6% year-over-year decline to $280.7 million for the fiscal third quarter ended March 30. Tapestry also saw a 2% revenue drop to $1.48 billion during the same period, despite strong online sales growth.

Crevoiserat expressed confidence in Erdmann’s leadership, citing her proven track record with luxury brands. “I am confident she is the right leader to unlock the significant runway for growth at the iconic Kate Spade brand,” Crevoiserat said.

Tapestry, which acquired Kate Spade in 2017 for $2.4 billion, is set to report its fiscal 2024 fourth-quarter and full-year results on August 15. The company projects annual revenue of over $6.6 billion, with about 1% growth on a constant currency basis.
