IDEX Biometrics, a Norway-based provider of fingerprint identification solutions, has appointed Catharina Eklof as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Eklof, who previously served as the company’s Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) for three years, succeeds Vince Graziani, who led the firm for over four years and will now continue as an advisor.
Eklof has been credited with playing a pivotal role in IDEX Biometrics’ shift from a component provider to a full biometric solution company. Her nearly 30-year career includes leadership roles at Defentry, Scandinavian Airlines, Statoil, and Mastercard, where she was Senior Vice President of product development, loyalty, and managed services.
Founded in 1996 and headquartered in Oslo, IDEX Biometrics specialises in authentication solutions for access control, digital identity, and payments. Morten Opstad, Chairman of the Board, praised Eklof as the “ideal person” to lead the company as it targets expansion in fast-growing markets in Asia and EMEA. Recently, IDEX secured a significant partnership with Mutual Trust Bank in Bangladesh for biometric payment cards.
