Procter & Gamble Company Adds Brett Biggs, others as Directors

In a significant move, The Procter & Gamble Company (NYSE: PG) has welcomed Brett Biggs as a newly elected member to its Board of Directors. This appointment took effect immediately after the 2023 Annual Meeting of Shareholders. All 14 P&G Director nominees, which included Mr. Biggs and 13 incumbent Directors, received robust support from shareholders, according to preliminary voting results.

P&G’s Board of Directors is comprised of seasoned and accomplished leaders, each bringing unique personal and professional backgrounds to provide expert guidance and oversight. These Directors represent diversity across gender, race, and ethnicity, with a blend of tenure, age, and industry experience.

Election of Mr. Brett Biggs to the P&G Board

Brett Biggs, the newest addition to P&G’s Board, comes with a wealth of experience from his role as the former Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Walmart, Inc., a position he held from 2016 until 2022.

P&G’s Chairman of the Board, President, and Chief Executive Officer, Jon Moeller, expressed his enthusiasm about Mr. Biggs joining the Board, saying, “Brett brings to P&G significant insight from his experience with a major multinational retailer and expertise related to public company financial matters, including accounting and financial reporting, tax, treasury, and capital strategy. His experience will lend critical perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing multinational companies, as well as important digital and corporate governance insights from having served as a key leader during Walmart’s transition from traditional brick and mortar to broader omnichannel retail operations. We’re delighted to welcome him to the P&G Board.”

Mr. Biggs held the position of Chief Financial Officer of Walmart International from 2014 to 2016 and of Walmart U.S. from 2012 to 2014. He also served as Senior Vice President of Operations for Sam’s Club from 2010 to 2012.

Over his extensive career spanning more than two decades with Walmart, Mr. Biggs took on several other leadership roles, including Chief Financial Officer of Sam’s Club, Senior Vice President-Corporate Finance and Assistant Treasurer, and Senior Vice President-International Strategy and Mergers and Acquisitions. Before joining Walmart in 2000, Mr. Biggs gained valuable experience in corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions roles with Leggett & Platt, Phillips Petroleum Co., and Price Waterhouse.

Beyond his role as a senior advisor for Blackstone, Mr. Biggs also serves on the Board of Directors of Adobe, Inc. and YUM! Brands, Inc. In addition to his contributions to the private sector, he has previously been involved in leadership positions on the American Red Cross Board of Governors, the Board of Regents at Pepperdine University, and the Board of Trustees of the National Urban League.

Mr. Biggs’ addition to the P&G Board further strengthens the company’s leadership with his wealth of experience in finance and his deep understanding of the evolving retail landscape. His expertise and insights are expected to contribute significantly to P&G’s strategic decisions and growth in the future.
