Truist Financial Corp has recently announced changes to its operating council team, with the departure of Scott Case as Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Denise DeMaio as Chief Audit Officer (CAO). The bank confirmed these departures, signaling a shift in its executive leadership.

Scott Case served as the CIO for legacy SunTrust Banks Inc. from February 2018 until the company’s acquisition by BB&T Corp. in December 2019 for $33.4 billion. Following the merger, Case continued his role as CIO for the newly formed Truist. Brad Bender has been appointed as the interim Chief Information Officer, as indicated on Truist’s operating council page.

Denise DeMaio was appointed as the Chief Audit Officer in February 2022. However, she has departed from her role, with Grant Harbrecht stepping in as the interim Chief Audit Officer. While an executive biography for Harbrecht is yet to be provided, his LinkedIn profile states that he has been serving as the Chief Compliance Officer for legacy BB&T since October 2019, and subsequently for Truist following the merger in December 2019.

These changes in the operating council come as Truist continues to evolve its leadership team, reflecting the bank’s commitment to adapt to the dynamic financial landscape and ensure continued growth and success in its operations.
