Nomad Foods Limited has announced the appointment of Ruben Baldew as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective June 17, 2024. Baldew, with over two decades of experience in global consumer products, will succeed Samy Zekhout, who is departing to explore new opportunities outside of Nomad Foods. Zekhout will continue to support the transition until July 31, 2024.
Baldew joins Nomad Foods from Accell Group, where he served as CFO from November 2018 to October 2023. During his tenure, he spearheaded several value-creation initiatives leading up to the successful sale of the business. Before his role at Accell Group, Baldew spent more than 15 years at Unilever, holding various finance positions across different regions.
Stefan Descheemaeker, Chief Executive Officer of Nomad Foods, expressed his excitement about Baldew’s appointment, highlighting his dynamic leadership and extensive financial expertise. Descheemaeker also thanked Zekhout for his significant contributions to the company’s success over the past six years.
Noam Gottesman, co-chairman and founder of Nomad Foods, welcomed Baldew to the team, praising his accomplishments and strategic acumen. Gottesman also acknowledged Zekhout’s impactful leadership, attributing it to Nomad Foods’ position as a leader in the European frozen food market.
Zekhout’s departure marks the end of a successful tenure characterised by strong shareholder value and strategic initiatives. The transition to Baldew signifies Nomad Foods’ commitment to continued growth and innovation in the consumer products industry.
